From the North - Hwy.
4/ I-80 (Sacramento, Vallejo, Martinez, Pinole):
Take Hwy. 4 west to I-80, and get on I-80 toward
Oakland.
Take the Hilltop Drive Exit (you'll see the pink Courtyard by
Marriott off to the right at that exit.)
Get into the left lane; go through the first stoplight (Blume
Drive) to the second stoplight (Shane Drive), where you will
see a large theatre marquee on the right and an Oil Changers on the
left. This is Shane Drive.
Turn left onto Shane Drive. After the first stop sign, you will go about a mile through a residential area, to the bottom of the hill. Just past the church on the right side, at the stop sign, will be Mills Avenue.
Turn right onto Mills, and then left into the college parking Lot 9. You may purchase a daily permit for $1.00 (quarters only) from the red machine in the middle of Lot 9.

From the south (Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond):
Follow I-80 East toward Sacramento, past Berkeley. Albany, El Cerrito and Richmond.
Take the El Portal Drive exit; it's the next exit after San Pablo Dam Road. At the end of the off-ramp there is a stoplight. Turn left and go under the freeway to another stoplight.
Keep going straight through that second stoplight (about half a mile), and there will be two more stoplights. At the second of these next two stoplights, you'll turn right onto Fordham Drive, into a residential area. (You can only turn right at Fordham; there is a wooded area on the left.)
Go to the second stop sign, which is only a T-intersection. Turn left onto Shane Drive. Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church. Turn left onto Mills, and then left again into parking Lot 9, which is the lot immediately to your left. You may purchase a daily parking permit for $1.00 (quarters only).

If you are going to a building on the other side of the campus from Lot 9 (i.e. Fireside Room in the SA building, Admissions or Counseling in the Humanities Building, testing in the LA building), you might want to park in Lot 10 instead of Lot 9.
In that case, follow the directions above to El Portal Drive, but do NOT turn right onto Fordham Street. Continue on El Portal Drive through two more stoplights. Across from the shopping center, turn right onto Castro Street ( the college Performing Arts Center is on the corner). Follow it as it curves around past the armory on your right and the gym/swimming pool complex. on your left. Lot 10 is at the end on your left.
Library Drive in the middle of the campus is closed to through traffic.
Take Hwy 24 West, toward Oakland. Take the Orinda exit, follow signs toward Richmond (turn right)
Stay on Camino Pablo through Orinda , Past the reservoir and into El Sobrante. ( Camino Pablo becomes San Pablo Dam Road by the reservoir.) You will go through the shopping district of El Sobrante, to the stoplight at El Portal Drive, (there is a Shell gas station on the right corner).
Turn right onto El Portal Drive, which curves to the left. In this area there is first a left-turn lane, then a right-turn lane. You don't want either; you want to keep going straight through the stoplight and under the freeway to the stoplight and under the freeway to the second stoplight( one just before freeway , on just past the freeway.) Continue west on El Portal to the fourth stoplight, which will be at Fordham Street.
From there,turn right Fordham Street ( you can't turn left ) into a residential area.

After you have crossed the bridge, take the Castro Street exit from I-580, and follow the signs for the Richmond Parkway. Follow the Richmond Parkway all the way to San Pablo Avenue (a stoplight intersection).
Turn right onto San Pablo Avenue. Follow San Pablo Avenue for about a mile and a half, down the hill, to the fourth stoplight. This will be El Portal Drive; there should be a MacDonalds on the left side corner.
Turn left onto El portal Drive. Go past the first quick left, past the college's baseball field on the left, and the shopping center on the right. the second street on the left will be Castro Street; the Performing Arts Center is on the corner. Turn left onto Castro Street.
Follow Castro Street as it curves past the National Guard Armory on the right,and the swimming pool and gym complex on the left. You will come to a "dead end" at Library Drive, which is right in front of the Student Association Building. Parking lot 10 is to your left.

If you are going to the administration offices, the Three Seasons Cafe, or the child Care Center, you will want to park in Lot 9, behind the receiving building.
In that event, follow the directions onto El Portal Drive, but do NOT turn left at Castro Street near the campus. Keep going on El Portal to the third stoplight, which is at Fordham Street. Turn left onto Fordham, through a residential area. Go about four blocks to the second stop sign, which is a T intersection.
Turn left onto Shane Drive, and drive about two blocks to the stop sign at Mills Avenue. Turn left onto Mills (between the parking lot and a church). and turn left again into Parking Lot 9. There is a daily parking Machine in the middle of the lot.
From the airport, follow the signs for I-880 North (West) toward Oakland/San Francisco. Get onto I-880 toward Oakland.
Stay on I-880 until you see signs for I-80, San Francisco or Berkeley/Sacramento. Follow the signs for Berkeley/Sacramento I-80 East. (I-80 west will take you over the bridge to San Francisco, and you don't want to go there.)

From the campus, go out on Mills avenue by Lot 9.
Turn right at the stop sign onto Shane Drive.
At the first street on your right, turn right onto Fordham. Go ahead on Fordham to the stoplight.
Turn left onto El Portal Drive, and get into the right lane. Right onto I-80. The freeway entrance is on the right, just past the Shell station.
Once on I-80, stay on the freeway past Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany, toward Berkeley.
Once you see signs for University Avenue in Berkeley, and Ashby or Powell, get into Second lane from the left.
At the split just past Powell Street in Emeryville, where the right lanes go to San Francisco/ Bay Bridge, Follow the signs for I-880 Oakland/San Jose, which goes straight when the rest go left.
Stay on I-880.
Exit at Heggenberger Road/Oakland Airport (it's right after the Coliseum exit). Heggenberger goes through a small business district. Immediately after you exit, you will want to move one lane to the left to avoid another right turn only lane. stay there, and the road goes right into the airport.
Watch the signs for the terminal you want (1or2) or the rental car return.
BART:
El Cerrito Del Norte Station AC Transit #72 bus is the most direct to the campus. Buses leave at 15 to 20 minute intervals. Buses #71 and #76 also stop at CCC.
Richmond Station: AC Transit bus #71 bus is the most direct; it leaves every 30 minutes. Bus #76 also stops at the CCC campus.
AC Transit:
There is an AC Transit Timed Transfer Stop on the Contra Costa College Campus, near the Student Association (SA) Building and the Vocational (VA) Building. This stop provides synchronized bus-to-bus or BART-to-bus transfers.
AC Transit Bus lines that stop at the college are numbers 69,71,72,74,76 and 78.
BART Express lines 30Z, J & Q, and Vallejo Transit, stop at Hilltop Mall. From there you can Transfer to AC Transit #69, 72, or 74 which stop at Contra Costa College.
