Grants

Students, parents, and scholarships go together. Students don't want to go ask their parents to pay for their college debts, parents dont want to take out big loans, and the people giving scholarships want to give you money.

We recommend that both student(s) and parent(s) sit down and take a look at these opportunities for grants for school.

• Fastweb
  An extensive scholarship (and other student aid) website/search engine. It is HIGHLY recommended that you at the very least take a look at this particular website.
  
• Free Application for Federal Student Aide
  Federal aide. In other words, by filling out the forms from this site can HELP you get grants and/or loans for when you go off to college.
• Scholarship.com
  Scholarships.com has had one goal: to help students find the money they need to get a college education. Over the last several years, we've become the largest free and independent college scholarship search and financial aid information resource on the Internet, and have been recognized by high schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.

• California Student Aid Commission
  Whether you’re planning to go to college or get career training, there’s money available to help you pay for it. Here you’ll learn about Cal Grants and other student aid programs, their requirements and how to apply for them. Higher education is a smart investment and can open doors to a variety of career paths. We’re here to help you build a brighter future.

• Mapping Your Future
  Mapping Your Future is a national collaborative, public-service, nonprofit organization providing career, college, financial aid, and financial literacy information and services for students, families, and schools.

• CalGrants
  Cal Grants are one of the smartest ways to get cash for college. For starters, it's money you don't have to pay back. If you're a graduating high school senior or recent graduate, meet academic, financial and eligibility requirements and submit two forms by the Cal Grant deadline, you may receive a Cal Grant!

• Eastbay Consortium
  The East Bay Consortium provides services to students and teachers in Oakland to achieve the goal of increasing the number of students finishing high school and enrolling in postsecondary institutions.

• EdFund
  Since 1997, EdFund has provided exceptional services to support students pursuing higher education. Established as a nonprofit public benefit corporation and auxiliary to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), EdFund has worked to administer all activities associated with CSAC's participation in the federal student loan program.

  The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.
  

• ACT
  ACT is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides a broad array of assessment, research, information, and program management solutions in the areas of education and workforce development.

• CSU Mentor
  CSUMentor is a website designed to help students and their families learn about the California State University (CSU) system. The CSU is comprised of 23 excellent campuses. CSUMentor assists students in planning for college, in selecting the appropriate CSU campus to attend, in planning how to finance their education, and in applying for admission.

• Assist
  Assist is a computerized student-transfer system that can be accessed over the web. It helps students see how some college units earned at one school ca be applied when transferring to another. ASSIST is the official repository of articulation for California’s colleges and universities and therefore provides the most accurate and up-to-date information available about student transfer in California.

• Know How 2 Go
  To ensure that students and adult mentors who connect with the powerful messages of the PSA campaign can easily find real-time, on-the-ground assistance, we have built and continue to support a strong grassroots network of partners. To date, more than 14 state and regional coalitions and 30 national partners have signed onto the campaign.
